Our Story
Hi there! My name is Hilda, and coffee has always been one of the simple pleasures in my life.
I came to the United States from the Philippines in search of a better life and to pursue new opportunities. Like so many people, I worked hard, dreamed big, and never forgot where I came from.
But there was one small problem: I loved coffee, and my acid reflux didn't.
I didn't want to give up something I enjoyed every day. I wanted coffee that was rich, bold, and satisfying, but naturally low in acidity and gentler to drink.
That search eventually led me to Sumatra.
I fell in love with the remarkably smooth, full-bodied character of Sumatra coffee and its naturally low acidity. Rather than creating another coffee company with dozens of blends and origins, I decided to focus on doing one thing exceptionally well: Sumatra coffee.
And that's how Hilda's Coffee was born.
My mission is simple: to share what I believe is some of the world's best low-acid coffee with people who love coffee as much as I do—especially those who have struggled to find a cup that's easier on their stomach without sacrificing rich, delicious flavor.
Hilda's Coffee is more than a coffee company to me. It's a part of my American Dream, and I'm incredibly grateful to share it with you.
